Who is Plenty’s new brand icon?
The mysterious Juan Sheet who, alongside our heroic pack of Plenty, is always on hand to tackle the toughest cleaning tasks. And thanks to Plenty’s strength, he shows that one sheet is all that’s needed because you can rinse it, wring it out and reuse it until the job is done. You’ll see that with one sheet, Juan Sheet does Plenty!
What does ‘One sheet does Plenty’ mean?
‘One sheet does Plenty’ summarises Plenty’s main message. Before the TV advert was made, we carried out tests to prove Plenty’s absorbency and strength. It took at least three sheets of ordinary household towel to do the same job as one sheet of Plenty and so the tagline of ‘One sheet does Plenty’ was created.
Why have you replaced Brenda and Audrey?
Following the introduction of the new name Plenty in early 2009, we felt it timely to introduce a new energy into the advertising campaign in the form of the new brand icon ‘Juan Sheet.’ Whilst the housewife duo Brenda and Audrey have been very popular over the past 10 years, we believe customers will enjoy Juan Sheet’s humour just as much as they’ve enjoyed watching Brenda and Audrey.
The introduction of Juan Sheet forms one of the final phases of the brand migration from Bounty* to Plenty following the acquisition of the brand from P&G in 2007. As part of the legal agreement signed when purchasing the brand, we were only able to use Brenda and Audrey for a limited time period. After consulting a number of consumer panels to get their opinion, Juan Sheet was chosen as the new brand icon.
Why do you keep changing the brand, first the name, then the logo, now the advertisements, what’s next?
When Bounty* was purchased in 2007 from P&G, we signed a legal agreement which required us to replace Bounty’s key assets such as the name, logo and brand icons. We have tried to phase in the changes so that people still recognise their favourite brand on the shelf. The introduction of Juan Sheet is one of the final stages of the migration from Bounty to Plenty.
Why did you change the name from Bounty* to Plenty?
The new Plenty name was chosen as it is a great way of reminding people about how versatile the UK's leading household towel is! The new name is a great chance for us to give Plenty a boost and show our customers just how useful it can be when used in and around the home - from mopping up spills in the kitchen or car, to cleaning the bathroom, or even as a handy napkin for picnics and BBQs. Whilst the name is changing, you can be sure that Plenty will still deliver excellent performance and value for money, with the same great strength and absorbency that people rely on.
Has the product changed?
Manufacturing techniques are often tweaked to ensure optimum productivity within our factories so in this respect occasionally there are minor changes to the product. These are small, insignificant changes that wouldn’t be noticed by customers and so everything you love about Bounty*/Plenty, e.g. the strength and absorbency and the ability to rinse and re-use all remain the same ensuring the quality of the product remains unchanged.
What are the advantages of using a Plenty household towel rather than a sponge?
Germs thrive in warm, wet environments, so the materials used to clean around the home, such as sponges, dishcloths, and cleaning rags, also may be breeding grounds for germs. In just one day's use, more than one billion germs can grow in a damp sponge. Plenty thoroughly cleans up the spills and is then thrown away, removing the potential breeding ground for germs and preventing them from spreading further around the home.
Is Plenty biodegradable?
Plenty is made of more than 97% cellulose, which is biodegradable. In the presence of oxygen and moisture, the cellulose fibres can be broken down by micro-organisms. Therefore, the household towel is completely biodegraded in a compost stream.
Can Plenty be used with food?
Yes, Plenty can be used with food. However, we recommend the use of the un-printed side of the sheet for the Plenty Fun Prints and Border Designs variants.
Can my husband or children use Plenty as a hanky? Is it safe?
It is entirely safe to use Plenty as a hanky, although it is not its main purpose. We would recommend you use a regular tissue, Velvet Tissues for example.
Do Plenty paper towels contain any egg or nut derivatives?
There is no egg or nut derivative in Plenty household towels.
Why can’t I find my favourite Plenty household towel?
We offer lots of choices in Plenty household towels because customer preferences vary. Stores choose which versions they want to carry, so you might want to mention your interest to the store manager. It's also possible the one you like is temporarily sold out or is only available during a particular season.
What types of towel design are available from Plenty?
Plenty offers a range of household towel to match your kitchen or occasion. Choose from White, Border Designs and Fun Prints to complement your style.
